About
Lucas Vaz
It all started because of Dragon Ball, when I tried to recreate the characters in my drawings. Nineteen years later, here I am creating visuals and campaigns for brands like Gillette, Ketel One and Downy.
My professional career started in 2007, but the real turning point came in 2011: fresh out of my Advertising degree, I founded Agência Dom Quixote, focused on brand identity, promotional activations and corporate materials. In 2014, seeking more creative freedom, I stepped away and created Studio Astronauta — a space where I could explore my own visual path. Until 2022, I developed and executed online and offline campaigns for a wide range of brands.
In 2021, alongside the Studio, I joined New Vegas, a multi-format digital creative agency. As Art Director, I created campaigns for P&G brands like Gillette, Ariel, Oral-B and Downy, as well as Ketel One and several pitches. I directed shoots that brought a fresh take on how those brands communicated digitally.
In 2024, I joined Ninety Eight, a creative agency focused on crypto and web3. I led the visual development of animated and illustrated digital campaigns, producing 2D animations, motion design and original illustrations. I also managed a team of designers and animators, ensuring creative direction and visual consistency across every project.
My work lives at the intersection of illustration, frame-by-frame 2D animation, motion design, art direction and branding.
Outside of that, I’m a proud dad, a coffee enthusiast, a self-taught cook, and (when time allows) someone who sees videogames as art and culture, beyond just entertainment.
